“So good they named it twice” and I don’t blame them!
During my year placement in the states, I was lucky enough to live pretty close to this world famous city.
There is no best time to visit New York, it’s going to be busy whenever you go – but it wouldn’t be New York City without the hustle and bustle!
However personally, I loved the winter! Snow in Central Park, hot chocolates and crepes available at every corner and of course the adorable Christmas markets! I loved the market at Bryant Park (although there’s plent to choose from!), it has stalls selling handmade Christmas decorations, a big ice rink as well as some of the yummiest crepes ever!
Central Park in the snow is also gorgeous! Me and my friend walked round the park all day! Only stopping for a quick trip to Starbucks for hot chocolate! We were also lucky enough to witness a lot of marriage proposals in the beautiful scenery. Now how can you not find images like this amazing??
After all that walking we decided to try and find a bar where we could just sit and warm up with some nibbles.. Then we came across The Australian.. You guessed it! An Australian themed bar on West 38th St just off of 5th Avenue. The majority of the staff are Australian and we were shown to a cosy booth surrounded by cute fairy lights and screens showing various sports (we found a passion for Australian football!). After digging into some nachos and a brownie we decided to spend the rest of the evening here. The bar staff were super friendly and attentive, even giving us a free shot of their own alcohol – I think it’s called combat wombat but I’m not sure! We even managed to pursuade the guys to put on spice girls, Westlife and even some B*Witched! Without a doubt one of the best nights out I had in America and I would definitely recommend a visit!
Seriously missing this beautiful city now!
